Nicole Katz and Alyssa Tabor - Group 6 - San Jose State University - INFO-260A with Professor Beth Wren-Estes - Fall 2015
Summary
In conclusion, "12 Months of Programming" project is the culmination of knowledge and skills learned in the graduate level class, INFO 260: Programming and Services for Children and has explored what a year of complete programming would look like in the Children's department of a library. We have accomplished this by creating the fictional Tabor-Katz Memorial Library and providing program plans for birth through third grade. Programs are separated into the following categories: "Storytime," "Programs for Parents," "Family Fun Days," "K-3rd Grade Clubs," and "Summer Reading." These programs have been separated by age group and topic and have been planned to appropriately meet the needs of the various developmental stages. Furthermore, these plans have been successfully formed under the constraints of a budget, which has been discussed in length throughout the blog. Finally, this project has provided excellent insight into the behemoth amount of work, creativity, and determination it takes to provide programming for the public in the children's department of a library.
