Developmental Benefits
The developmental benefits of the Summer Reading Program are many. Not only does the program lessen the summer slide, it also teaches children to read for pleasure. Reading for pleasure increases analytical abilities, vocabulary, and creativity and plays a vital role in a successful life.
Marketing/Advertising Plan
Librarians will make outreach visits to as many local schools as possible in late April and early May. In addition, the Community Relations Department will generate a heavy social media campaign and will theme the quarterly newsletter on the program. Furthermore, the program is expected to garner local news coverage. Finally, and most importantly, librarians will engage in aggressive word-of-mouth marketing.
*Disclosure: This library is fictional and did not win any grant or donations specified. In addition, the programs specified will not occur. We are providing the most realistic descriptions possible for the purpose of the assignment.
